I'm in the Navy and currently deployed ashore to Africa. I've already decided that when I get back to the states (Next Feb.), my next rifle will be Remington's R-25 in .308...great hunting and target cartridge from a modern rifle by a manufacturer known for high quality. What could be better?

I quit deer hunting and shooting in the early 90's at a young age because I lost my passion for it. I got into AR's 4 years ago and shooting them got me fired up for hunting big game again. Now I and many of my friends are very excited for antelope and deer hunting every year because we hunt with the kind of firearms we're passionate about, .223 and .308 AR's. My bolt rifles will still be useful as a conversation piece but they won't be going along on any hunts again. To each their own, shoot and hunt with whatever kind of firearm you like, just don't turn up your nose if someone is using something you wouldn't. Gun owners and hunters NEED to stick together with all the forces out there working against us.
